Expressionist Pet Portrait Night
Transform your furry (or scaly or feathery!) friend's image into a colorful masterpiece. In this workshop you will paint an expressionist pet portrait in acrylic paint on a 6"x8" canvas, learning concepts of value and color theory, and most importantly, having fun!
No experience necessary. All paint supplies provided (please see note below regarding the reference photo, which must be provided by the student.) Aprons are available upon request but students are recommended to wear clothes they're ok with getting stained with paint. This workshop is recommended for people ages 13+.
Please note: Students will need a clear, well lit, black and white photograph of your pet printed on printer paper--not photo paper--and scaled to fit a canvas size 6"x8". You may bring this printed 6"x8" photo to the workshop or email it to [email protected] no later than July 16 so staff can print it for you. We will be tracing photographs, so having one is necessary. If you do not bring/send a photo, there will be a selection of random pet photos supplied for you.
